For the first time in my life, I can spend New Year’s Eve at a place I can truly call Home. I last celebrated it when I was 15 and I thought it was a fiasco, so I have not really bothered since. Being an introvert, I find parties either annoying or boring, and I am much better off on my own, or with a very close circle of friends and family. I am at my happiest chilling, watching films, reading books, listening to music, going through my photo albums and making plans for new trips and travels.
I already summarized 2019 in the previous post. I wish I had not failed miserably at the Everest Anywhere challenge; I am reluctant to sign up for 2020 in case I don’t have time for this again. I am, however, determined to spend as much time as possible outdoors. I have recenly read about Llangollen Round and I will definitely give it a go when the days become longer again. If there is one thing I really miss after moving from Surrey to here, that would be the Surrey Hills and being able to walk into a forest straight from the house.
I don’t prepare a list of New Year’s resolutions. What I do instead is carry on with my usual lifestyle, improving on it where possible. Eating nutricious, protein-rich diet. Making sure I walk for 1.5 – 2 hours every weekday, and going for one longer walk (4-6 hours) at the weekend. Reading more, insteading of Netflix – binging every evening.
I have some wishes, of course. Apart from remaning healthy and in a good shape, I would love to start working in a field at least partially related to my interests. If anything, 2019 has taught me that nothing is impossible and most obstacles exist in our heads only. If this wasn’t true, I wouldn’t be here today, writing these words.
May 2020 be even better than 2019, or at least just as good!
